Leading Journalist Aase E. Jacobsen Is Star Wine List’s New Oslo Ambassador

November 20, 2025 (Stockholm, Sweden) — Often referred to as the Michelin guide of the wine world, Star Wine List calls on a global network of expert ambassadors to offer Red Star recommendations in over 45 countries. Today, its new Oslo Ambassador is revealed as noted journalist Aase E. Jacobsen, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Norway’s Apéritif magazine.

Oslo Ambassador Aase E. Jacobsen

Star Wine List is the international guide to the world’s best bars and restaurants – for wine – accessible via its website and app. Aase E. Jacobsen is a journalist of 40 years’ experience who co-founded bi-monthly drinks magazine, Apéritif, in the mid-1990s, guiding it into the trade bible that it is today. Aase now joins the Star Wine List team as ambassador for her home town of Oslo. She begins her role by adding nine Red Stars in the Norwegian capital, plus one in Kvitnes, and updating the reviews to three existing venue profiles also in Oslo.

“Oslo is an increasingly international gastronomic destination,” says Aase, “with 11 Michelin-starred restaurants and cocktail bars among the world’s best, attracting foodies and visitors from all over the world. Even though the wine prices are high in Norway due to the taxes, I find that rare and top wines are reasonably priced both at the monopoly and at restaurants compared to other markets.”

This appointment comes after Aase joined the high-profile judging panel for Star Wine List of the Year Norway 2025 alongside sommeliers Stephen Wong MW, Mikk Parre and June Rodil MS. “The competition is an important addition to the guide itself,” she says, “as it promotes wine lists with different aspects that might not be easy to see when you surf the guide, looking for a place to wine and dine.”

Aase joins existing Oslo Ambassador Gunnar Skoglund in reporting on the Norwegian capital.
