ROSEBURG, OREGON – Nov. 2, 2025 – The Umpqua Valley Winegrowers Association (UVWA) is proud to announce the renaming of its annual Thanksgiving open house event to Winesgiving Weekend in the Umpqua Valley. Twenty wineries in the Umpqua Valley will participate in Winesgiving Weekend this year, from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30.

Along with the name change, the UVWA is shifting the focus of the weekend to locals. Each tasting room will be offering a variety of special events, including new wine releases, live music, and special Thanksgiving food pairings to accompany the wines.
“We wanted something fun and playful that focuses on people coming together for the holiday, and ‘Winesgiving’ accomplishes that,” said Ali Rodgers, Executive Director of the UVWA. “Many wineries see Thanksgiving weekend as one of the most significant times of the year, with a major influx of locals visiting their tasting rooms,” Rodgers added. “We’re leaning into that this year, inviting locals out for the weekend, and encouraging them to bring friends and family.”
Visitors Can Expect:
- 20 participating wineries: From Elkton to Winston, each winery will be showcasing different wines.
- Special Wine Releases: Many wineries are releasing new wines this weekend and offering tastes of older library wines.
- Special Holiday Pricing: Select wineries are offering Black Friday wine specials and holiday discounts.
- A chance to discover new favorites: with both familiar and rare wine varietals poured throughout the weekend.
A Sample of Winery Offerings:
- Enjoy a flight of Malbec and new release wines at Knostman Family Winery.
- Indulge in a dessert wine & caramel pairing at Cooper Ridge.
- Listen to live music at Reustle-Prayer Rock Vineyards.
