Contact BioSolutions Showcases FireHawk® Bioherbicide Concentrate and Newly Approved FireHawk Ready-To-Use at the 2025 WIN Expo

Contact BioSolutions, developer of FireHawk® Bioherbicide, announced today it will feature two of its EPA-registered weed-control solutions at the 2025 North Coast Wine Industry Expo, taking place December 4, 2025 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California: FireHawk Bioherbicide Concentrate and the newly approved FireHawk Bioherbicide Ready-To-Use (RTU).

Both formulations are contact, non-selective, broad-spectrum herbicides designed for use in vineyards, orchards, farms, and non-crop areas where growers need reliable performance on actively growing green vegetation. FireHawk provides burndown of annual and perennial broadleaf and grass weeds, as well as most mosses and other cryptogams, with visible effects occurring within hours when thorough spray coverage is achieved.

Two Solutions, Same Trusted Technology
FireHawk Bioherbicide Concentrate

FireHawk Concentrate is a foliar-applied, emulsifiable concentrate formulated with nonanoic acid (49.9%). It can be applied through most standard or field-type sprayers after dilution and mixing with water. In California, applications must begin at a minimum 3.2% solution, with rate adjustments made based on weed maturity and desired level of vegetation burndown.

When applied uniformly and with complete coverage, FireHawk Concentrate delivers:

  • Burndown of annual and perennial weeds
  • Fast visible effects within hours

Flexible use across labeled crop and non-crop sites, including vineyards, orchards, berries, legumes, field crops, turf, greenhouse areas, structures, and rights-of-way

California growers may select among rate options beginning at 3.2%, 4.8%, and 6.6%, depending on the task—from maintaining control of juvenile weeds to establishing control on mature or woody vegetation.

NEW: FireHawk Bioherbicide Ready-To-Use (RTU)

The newly approved FireHawk RTU offers the convenience of a pre-mixed, ready-to-spray formulation with the same mode of action: contact burndown of weeds and mosses. It is well-suited for quick spot treatments and smaller-scale applications, including:

  • Patios and walkways
  • Gravel areas and mulch beds
  • Flower beds and vegetable gardens
  • Around trees, shrubs, edging, and fence lines

As a non-selective solution, FireHawk RTU must be applied only to vegetation intended to be controlled.

Supporting Vineyard Weed-Management Programs Across California

At WIN Expo, Contact BioSolutions will highlight how California growers can use FireHawk’s label-approved applications—from vegetative burndown and sucker control to directed sprays and pre-emergence site preparation—to support integrated vineyard weed-management programs. FireHawk’s fast activity, broad site allowance, and compatibility with standard ground equipment make it a practical fit for vineyards operating in both conventional and regenerative systems.

Drew Roth, COO and Head of Sales, will be on-site to meet with growers, help answer application questions, and discuss how FireHawk can fit into a vineyard’s season-long approach to weed control.
