Bryn Mawr Vineyards Unveils Its Flagship 2023 Vintage Wines

A milestone vintage introducing a newly defined Reserve program and a deeper expression of Bryn Mawr’s winemaking vision

October 28, 2025 (Salem, OR)Bryn Mawr Vineyards is proud to announce the release of its 2023 vintage wines, marking an exciting new chapter for the estate. The 2023 lineup features both Estate and Reserve tiers of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, showcasing the evolution of Bryn Mawr’s craftsmanship and the continued vision of Winemaker and Vineyard Director, Rachel Rose.

With the 2023 vintage, Bryn Mawr launches a newly redefined Reserve program. Previously, Reserve wines were only produced from particularly exceptional vintages when the young Bryn Mawr Estate vineyard showed its great potential. Today, the maturing vineyard shows that potential has been realized, with a consistently robust character that merits Reserve designation on a reliably annual basis. Additionally, The Reserve Cuvees will marry the high-toned intensity of the Estate vineyard with quality sites throughout the Willamette Valley, representing cross-AVA blends  that allow for greater complexity, diversity, and harmony than single-vineyard sourcing alone.

“Without the constraints of single-vineyard blending, I am now free to create the most complex and complete blends possible,” says Bryn Mawr Vineyards’ Winemaker and Vineyard Director, Rachel Rose. “We are farming our Estate at the highest level we have ever achieved, which contributes greatly to the overall quality of our wines. At the same time, we’ve brought high-pedigree vineyards into the fold to add diversity and harmony to our upper-tier blends.”

These changes underscore Bryn Mawr’s commitment to both innovation and integrity—balancing the precision of estate farming with the expressive potential of regional blending. Rose has also deepened relationships with partner growers, ensuring a shared dedication to quality and sustainability that supports this next phase of Bryn Mawr’s growth.

“I have a deep respect for the land and the concept of terroir, and as much as I want to honor the traditions of the old world through site specific and single origin wines —I feel that this is a more contemporary way of blending wines that provides the opportunity to create something more complete and compelling each and every vintage,” says Rose. “With this new philosophical approach it’s about creating something greater than the sum of its parts. This evolution allows us to express the full breadth of Willamette Valley character, while still celebrating our Estate’s unique voice.”

The 2023 vintage kept Bryn Mawr Vineyards on their toes. A frigid early spring delayed budbreak, but record-breaking May temperatures led to the shortest phenological intervals ever recorded in the Willamette Valley. Sporadic June rains and rare August thunderstorms provided hydration, yet the vintage maintained its relentless pace. Harvest arrived like an unstoppable tidal wave, making it their busiest September on record. Despite its rapid and unpredictable nature, meticulous yield management and skilled winemaking resulted in a diverse selection of aromatic, well-balanced wines.
