Oenodia and the IOC Are Partnering at VITeff 2025 to Address the Challenges Faced by Sparkling Wine Producers

October, 13, 2025 (Pertuis and Épernay, France) — Oenodia, the leading brand for eco-friendly wine technology, is now part of the IOC. They will showcase their latest innovations together at Stand A3 – Hall Services during the upcoming VITeff, the International Effervescent Wine Technology Exhibition, from October 14 to 16, 2025, at Millesium in Épernay.

Shared destiny, shared stand

For the first time, the Institut Œnologique de Champagne (IOC) and Oenodia will share a stand to present the widest range of wine-making products on the market. From consulting to bottling, the IOC’s range of services, products, and materials includes Oenodia technologies for stabilizing, filtering, adjusting pH, and controlling alcohol.

This strategic merger meets the needs of a sector seeking new solutions. The global market for Champagne and sparkling wines is strong in terms of value and resilience, but must adapt ever more quickly to climate change, shifting consumer trends, and a volatile international export context.

These issues will be on everyone’s lips, in the aisles, and at the VITeff’s conferences. The only international trade fair dedicated to sparkling wine technologies, this year it welcomes more than 150 companies from all fields (from winemaking to export) to meet buyers from around the world.

A turning point for Oenodia

“The IOC is our new home!” sums up Yannick Le Gratiet, director of Oenodia. Sold this summer, the brand, born in Pertuis, remains based in its Vaucluse location, where the French team works, while North American operations have been transferred to Scott Laboratories in California. This move is part of an ambitious strategy: to develop new growth drivers through well-established distribution networks across all wine-producing countries and to strengthen or expand the brand’s presence in many markets, including sparkling wine markets.

“Our priority is to accelerate the spread of our solutions to help producers face climate change,” continues Yannick Le Gratiet. ‘The physico-chemical impacts are becoming more significant in the vine. Increases in pH and alcohol levels raise the risks of instability and sensory imbalances in wines. However, not all regions and terroirs are affected equally. Our precise and reliable technologies complement the IOC range effectively, providing tailored solutions for each context that ensure wine quality and support winemakers’ future. The VITeff is a new opportunity to highlight the enological, environmental, and financial benefits of incorporating our solutions into the technical process for sparkling wines.”

The IOC is commemorating its 120th anniversary!

While the foundations were laid in 1890 with the creation of the General Warehouse of Champagne, the official birth year of the Oenological Institute of Champagne (IOC) is 1905. As a pioneer in selecting and preparing oenological yeasts, IOC has built expertise recognized today far beyond its Champagne origins, thanks to the skills of 200 staff members (including 50 oenologists), a network of ten laboratories in France, a presence in 57 countries, and multiple certifications like FSSC 22000, Cofrac, and Bio.

“In this anniversary year of the 120 years of the IOC, our presence at the VITeff takes on a particular meaning,” explains Thomas Leclère, Director General of the IOC. “We are committed to promoting all aspects of our role in serving the planet wine, and of course, sparkling wines for which we were born at the turn of the 20th century”.

Today, IOC is the only company in the world capable of supporting its customers throughout the entire winemaking process from grape to bottle, with global expertise in services, products, materials, and technologies, and the ability to develop tomorrow’s solutions. We will showcase several new products at VIEFF, including the presence of Oenodia! We are very proud to include this leading brand and its highly efficient equipment in our offerings.
