Decemil Estate Wines Opens Intimate New Tasting Lounge in Downtown Paso Robles

October 8, 2025 (Paso Robles, CA) — A distinctive new experience comes to downtown Paso Robles as Decemil Estate Wines opens the Decemil Wine Lounge, an intimate tasting space that merges classic speakeasy ambiance with modern Central Coast flair.

Located in the Historic 1888 Grangers Union building at 13th and Pine streets, the Decemil Tasting Lounge showcases the winery’s critically acclaimed small-batch Rhône-style wines from its micro estate in the Willow Creek District.

“We designed the tasting room to be cozy and inviting, a modern take on a 1920s speakeasy and a place to discover a new favorite wine or just socialize over a glass or flight before lunch or dinner,” said co-founder and owner Toni Ulrich.

A Warm Welcome

The Decemil Tasting Lounge welcomes patrons into a stylish space with tasting and bottle service at small tables with cushioned seating, as well as a cozy lounge area with comfortable bench seating and a slim wall-mounted fireplace. Artful lighting, a small tasting bar and splashes of art deco design complete the décor. The space was designed in partnership with Studio 2G Architects of San Luis Obispo.

To celebrate the opening of the Decemil Tasting Lounge and in honor of Harvest Wine Month in Paso Robles, guests will enjoy a special 50 percent savings on tastings through October 31. Club memberships include complimentary  tastings as well as generous discounts. Decemil will soon introduce the “Monthly Club,” designed with SLO County locals in mind, offering wines by the glass or by the bottle at preferred pricing.   Reservations are recommended and walk-ins are welcome as space allows. Opening hours are Thursday, Sunday and Monday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  For reservations visit DecemilWines.com or call (805) 226-2828.

Micro Estate Wines

Decemil’s inaugural 2022 vintage wines were released last November and immediately received accolades from Wine Enthusiast and Vinous, including 94-point scores for the 2022Syrah and the 2022 Syzygy GSM blend. These wines are now featured at the tasting lounge along with several new release 2023 wines.  Decemil produces three wines featuring the best-known Rhône varieties—Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre—along with a Rosé wine and three GSM blends.

The name Decemil combines the Latin words for ten and thousand, referencing the 10,000 vines planted on five acres. Employing organic and regenerative practices in the vineyard ensures that the fruit reflects its provenance of the Willow Creek District.

“The best wines taste like the place they are from,” said co-founder and winemaker Jerry Ulrich. “Each vintage should reflect both land of origin and the annual growing conditions that contribute to its character—this is what we strive for in each Decemil wine.”
