Known for his evocative landscapes and global perspective, Katz’s work is featured in galleries and collections around the world

September 30, 2025 (New York, NY) — Internationally acclaimed photographer and Sony Artisan of Imagery Andy Katz continues to mesmerize global audiences with his breathtaking photography that explores the intersection of nature, light, and raw beauty. His lifelong passion for photography, nature, and storytelling propels his ongoing quest to unite and inspire through the lens of his camera.
With a career spanning four decades, Katz’s artistic journey began at the age of eight when his father brought home a book of black-and-white portraits by the legendary photographer Yousuf Karsh. Instantly captivated, Katz said, “it was as if a flashbulb went off in my soul.” What started as a childhood fascination quickly evolved into a profound calling that would take him across continents, to over 90 countries, capturing the beauty and mystery of far-flung destinations. Among his photographic adventures, Andy has explored the vast deserts of Namibia, chronicled the disappearing Jewish culture of Eastern Europe, photographed the rolling hills and verdant vineyards of Northern California, France, Oregon, Argentina, and Italy, revealed the majesty of South Africa, the raw landscapes of Iceland, the vibrant spirit of Cuba, and the timeless allure of India.
“Photography is my way of honoring the earth’s natural beauty and the stories it holds,” says Katz.

Katz’s signature style is rich in texture, contrast, and composition, earning him a devoted following and a place among the elite Sony Artisans of Imagery, a hand-selected group of the world’s most gifted photographers recognized for their artistic excellence and commitment to innovation. He is one of the world’s most collected photographers, with prints and work featured in museums and galleries around the globe, including his own gallery in Aperture Cellars Winery in Healdsburg, California. Andy’s imagery has been featured on the covers of top recording artists’ albums including Doobie Brothers and Dan Fogelberg albums, with over 6 million albums sold, a testament to the demand of his singular vision.
Beyond the gallery walls, Katz’s art also lives on the bottles of Aperture Cellars, the renowned Sonoma winery founded with his son, first-generation winemaker Jesse Katz. Each wine label features a chosen photograph by Andy, making every bottle not only a celebration of exceptional terroir, but also a work of visual art.
With 14 stunning books to his name—including A Walk in The Park, A Portrait of Napa and Sonoma, New Zealand: Sea, Earth, Sky, Private Reserve, and The Heart of Burgundy—Andy is currently working on his 15th, America the Beautiful, the highly anticipated collection will celebrate the breathtaking landscapes of the United States.
His work transcends categories, encompassing, nature, travel, and fine art. Whether capturing the silent majesty of mountains and glaciers or the delicate, sweeping expanse of barren deserts, Andy Katz invites viewers to see the world differently—with reverence, curiosity, and awe.
