New Vintages Are First Under Winemaker Robin Howell’s Management

September 19, 2025 (Dayton, OR) — Sokol Blosser Winery, a pioneering family-owned and -operated winery, is releasing new vintages of two of its award-winning wines: 2023 Kalita Vineyards Pinot Noir, from Yamhill-Carlton AVA, and 2023 Orchard Block Pinot Noir from Dundee Hills.
These new releases are notable because they are the first that have been 100% under the management of Winemaker Robin Howell. Howell took the reins as Lead Winemaker in February 2023, expanding her winemaking responsibilities beyond sparkling wines to include all Sokol Blosser wines.
“As a winemaker, it’s exciting to oversee my first vintage, from bud break to bottling,” says Howell. “Alex Sokol Blosser was an excellent mentor, and the overall 2023 growing season provided a beautiful crop despite a hail storm at bloom and the challenge of a dry hot summer! These wines are full of flavor and texture. I’m excited for people to taste them.”
Sokol Blosser’s seven-acre Orchard Block vineyard is known for balance. Each vintage of Orchard Block Pinot Noir has shown exceptionally well-balanced tannins and fruit. The Kalita Vineyard is a bowl-shaped vineyard with 22 acres planted to Pinot Noir, and is named after the vineyard’s original owners, Sherry and Arthur Kalita.
The back labels of each wine feature full ingredient and nutrition information, a practice that Sokol Blosser debuted in January 2024 with its 2023 Estate Rosé of Pinot Noir. Additionally, Sokol Blosser practices organic farming, and the Kalita Vineyard received organic certification in fall 2024.
These wines are available now to the trade and will soon be available online. Suggested retail prices are $45 for the Kalita Vineyard Pinot Noir and $75 for the Orchard Block Pinot Noir.
