Austin Hope Captures Lightning in a Bottle

America’s #2 Bestselling Luxury Cabernet Sauvignon Pioneers 1-Liter Bottle Exclusively for
On-Premise Accounts

August 27, 2025 (Paso Robles, CA) — Austin Hope, the leader in luxury Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon, has broken the mold once again with an innovative one-liter bottle format available exclusively to on-premise accounts nationwide.

The new bottle format is the culmination of a three-year R&D process led by Austin Hope, the brand’s namesake owner and winemaker. Since the launch of the one-liter format less than two years ago, more than 90 percent of the brand’s by-the-glass accounts have adopted the one-liter bottle.

“A one-liter bottle format is not a common practice at this scale,” Hope said. “We had to acquire a custom mold, commit to a three-year supply of glass and convince a lot of skeptics along the way. We stuck our necks out, but we believed strongly in the concept and it has proven to be a huge hit.”

The one-liter bottle was initially developed to sustain Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon’s competitive by-the-glass pricing, which has been instrumental in the brand’s meteoric growth. It is designed without a UPC code, ensuring that on-premise bottle pricing does not migrate into the on-premise retail space. In addition to augmenting by-the-glass service, the one-liter bottle has proven popular with restaurant patrons who purchase the one-liter with dinner to have a little extra for themselves, fellow guests and after-dinner enjoyment.

“The one-liter bottle is a creative solution that maintains competitive on-premise pricing for the many loyal accounts who have helped build the Austin Hope brand,” Hope said.

A Paragon of Paso Robles

Launched less than 10 years ago starting with the 2015 vintage, the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon today ranks as America’s #2 bestselling luxury Cabernet Sauvignon and is distributed in 47 countries. It has twice been named a “Top 10 Wine of the Year” by Wine Enthusiast while becoming a standard bearer for Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon.

Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon is prized for its signature Paso Robles depth and richness of flavor, combined with beautiful varietal character. It exhibits a textural silkiness that is a hallmark of the Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon.

“Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon is the culmination of my family’s longtime passion for Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon, dating back more than 30 years with our Liberty School label,” Hope said. “It’s exciting to see our region increasingly recognized for world-class Cabernet Sauvignon on the global stage.”
