Winery expands guest experiences with new offerings, accessible pricing, and tastings seven days a week

August 13, 2025 (Sonoma, CA) — Patz & Hall, known for crafting some of California’s most expressive Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, is proud to announce the appointment of Grant Wood as Senior Manager, Hospitality & DTC Sales. Grant joins the winery with more than a decade of experience in luxury hospitality and a belief that the best wine experiences are built on warmth, curiosity, and attention to detail.
With certifications as both a Certified Sommelier and WSET Diploma holder, Grant is reimagining how tasting room guests experience Patz & Hall, creating tastings that reflect individual interests while removing some of the traditional barriers that keep people at a distance. From more welcoming price points to opening the doors seven days a week, Grant brings with him a shift toward greater accessibility and more opportunities to explore what wine has to offer.
“Hospitality truly means the world to me and goes beyond what is in the glass,” said Wood. “We’re reimagining our experiences to bring our guests even closer to the wines, the vineyards, and one another. We welcome the novice, the collector, the farmer, and the community into our home, where we want everyone to feel the gracious act of personalized hospitality.”
The new tasting experiences include:
The Sonoma House Flight – $20
An ideal introduction to Patz & Hall in a classic tasting bar setting, this guided tasting features the winery’s Sonoma Coast Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, each alongside a single-vineyard expression of the same grape, showcasing regional character and vineyard-specific nuance.
The Site Survey – $40
For those seeking a deeper dive, this tasting offers a thoughtfully selected look at the winery’s most storied vineyard sources. Following a welcome pour of sparkling wine, guests are led through two single-vineyard Chardonnays and two single-vineyard Pinot Noirs from acclaimed sites such as Hyde, Pisoni, and Kent Ritchie.
These changes reflect a broader vision from Founder & Owner James Hall, who recently returned the winery to independent ownership. “Hospitality is at the heart of what we do,” said Hall. “That means investing in people like Grant and creating experiences that invite discovery and showcase what makes Patz & Hall special.”
