The Vice Wines Begins 2025 Harvest with Pinot Noir for Rosé

August 12, 2025 (Napa, CA) — The Vice Wines officially kicked off the 2025 Napa Valley harvest on Monday, August 11, with the first reported red grapes to be picked in Napa Valley this season: Pinot Noir from Truchard Vineyards in Carneros, picked at 17° Brix for their signature rosé.

“Our rosé starts in the vineyard — we pick early to lock in bright acidity and fresh, vibrant flavors,” said Malek Amrani, founder and winemaker of The Vice Wines. “The Pinot Noir from Truchard Vineyards came in beautifully this year, and it’s the perfect way to start the vintage.”

The wine is projected to finish at just 9.5% alcohol by volume — the lowest of the 200+ wines The Vice has crafted to date. This naturally low alcohol level will be achieved without any post-fermentation de-alcoholization or manipulation, a reflection of vineyard timing and style rather than cellar intervention.

The early August pick signals the beginning of an intense but exhilarating season for Napa Valley winemakers, as fruit comes in at peak ripeness over the next few months.

The Vice Wines, based in Napa, CA, produces small-batch, single-varietal wines from sustainably farmed Napa Valley vineyards. Each harvest, the team focuses on capturing the purest expression of each grape and site.
