August 6, 2025 (Rutherford, CA) — Niebaum-Pennino Winery, part of The Family Coppola legacy, is pleased to announce the opening of a brand new tasting room in Napa Valley: “The Pennino House.” Reminiscent of a favorite cousin’s home, The Pennino House is a welcoming place where wine, heritage, and hospitality come together in true Italian American style.
The Pennino House is nestled in Napa Valley’s renowned Rutherford District and crafts wines from organically farmed vineyards whose lineage dates back to 1879. Inspired by Francis Ford Coppola’s mother, Italia Pennino Coppola, the winery offers sparkling and still Rosé, Sauvignon Blanc, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Complete with a cozy living room, a communal dining nook, and expansive outdoor spaces, The Pennino House beckons guests to enjoy flights, bottles and wines by the glass – while relaxing over a game of cards. Niebaum-Pennino’s small-volume, estate-grown wines are crafted with care and character. Guests can also savor Italian-inspired snacks and mocktails, share a table under the sun, and enjoy a game or two on the lawn.
The name Niebaum-Pennino honors two defining family legacies: Niebaum for Gustave Niebaum, the visionary sea captain and wine pioneer who helped put Napa Valley on the global wine map in the 1800’s, and Pennino for the Coppola family’s Neapolitan roots and musical heritage. As matriarch Italia Pennino Coppola often told her son Francis, “Coppola this and Coppola that… Don’t forget you’re also a Pennino,” a reminder of the importance of the generations who shaped their family’s story.
The Pennino House is located at 1991 St. Helena Highway in the Napa Valley town of Rutherford. The Pennino House is located immediately to the right of Inglenook’s gates, and it’s open Friday – Sunday from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. The tasting room team can be reached at 707-967-7111, and walk-ins are welcome. For guests who prefer to plan ahead, tasting flights range from $30 – $50 per person and reservations can be made here. Wines can also be purchased by the glass or by the bottle.
