July 24, 2025 (Paris, France) — For the eleventh year running, France’s auction governing body has named International Wine Auction (IWA), the iDealwine subsidiary which is the company’s licensed operator of auction sales, as the leading auction house dedicated to wine sales for 2024. Last year, 261,465 bottles (when scaled to 750ml) were auctioned by International Wine Auction, iDealwine’s subsidiary, for €39.1 million.

The report published by the governing body says, “Generating €10 million more than Sotheby’s in 2024, International Wine Auction [the iDealwine subsidiary] has established itself as the leader for Wine & Spirit auctions. A total of €33 million [not including buyer’s fees] was auctioned with €21 million of the sales made by those living outside of the EU.”
2025 – A year to celebrate
Being awarded the tittle of France’s top wine auction house for 2024 is not the only thing that iDealwine has to celebrate. Momentum hasn’t waned in 2025! In March, the company organised the Hospices de Nuits-Saint-Georges Auction for the first time and to great success! The average price of a pièce soared 41.5% to €22,422.50. A month later, iDealwine opened its New York office. The USA is a country with a lot of growth for the company in spite of the uncertainty of new taxes. iDealwine has also just sent the first orders to Canada, the 42nd country that the company delivers to in the world.
“The IWA-iDealwine model, which has customers with various profiles from all around the world, remained resilient in 2024 and it has continued to be so in 2025 against a geopolitical and economic backdrop that does not spare us,” explains Cyrille Jomand, the CEO of iDealwine. “Nevertheless, we continue to make strides in all that we do.”
2024’s highest-priced wines 10 years ago
To mark the amazing year that iDealwine had in 2024, the company has analysed the top 10 highest-priced wines from that year and calculated the progression of their value over the past 10 years, retaining one wine per producer. The wine in first place does not have a 10-year price evolution as it was only produced 5 years ago and the one from Coche Dury is also missing this statistic as its release was imminent in 2014.
