Introducing Access Alexander Valley Wine Week: A Rare Invitation into the Heart of Wine Country

September 22–28, 2025 | Hosted by the Alexander Valley Winegrowers Association

July 1, 2025 (Alexander Valley / Sonoma County, CA) — For one week only this fall, the gates of Alexander Valley will open wide for a new kind of wine country experience. Access Alexander Valley Wine Week, held September 22–28, 2025, is a rare invitation to step beyond the tasting bar and into the lives, land, and stories of the farmers and winemakers who make this region exceptional.

Curated and hosted by the Alexander Valley Winegrowers Association, this immersive event features exclusive experiences at nine family-owned wineries and estates, many of which are offering public access for the very first time.

Guests can paddle across a private vineyard lake and sip estate wines with Bedarra Vineyards, or ride through the vines on a scenic guided bike tour with ACTA Wine, ending in a relaxed vineyard brunch. Alexander Valley Vineyards invites guests behind the scenes for a walk through its historic estate, wine caves, and a garden brunch with the Wetzel family, or join them for a Past, Present & Future Library Tasting, guests will taste rare aged wines, current releases, and exclusive barrel samples in a guided flight that spans decades.

At Robert Young Estate Winery guests will join 5th-generation host Robert Young II for a tractor and gondola ride through the vineyards, stopping for guided tastings and culminating in a relaxing picnic lunch among the vines. Stuhlmuller Vineyards is offering a rare opportunity to hike their estate vineyards and taste wines made from the exact blocks you’ll explore. This guided experience includes grape sampling, vineyard education, and a wine-paired lunch from the newly reimagined JimTown & Then Sum.

Over at J. Rickards Winery, visitors can walk through 100-year-old vines with winemaker Jim Rickards and even bottle their own half-case of wine by hand. Kelley & Young Wines presents three distinct events, including a four-course Winemaker Dinner hosted at the newly revived JimTown & Then Sum with founder Jim Young. In Cloverdale, they’re hosting two complementary vertical tastings—one for gold medal-winning Malbec and one for Zinfandel—offering insight into five vintages of each. Guests of Lampson Family Wines will enjoy a guided vineyard walk with co-founder Catie and ranch manager Andrew, followed by an intimate tasting in a hilltop vineyard setting.

At Silver Oak, guests will be led on a tour that blends education and sustainability—exploring the vineyards, their Platinum LEED-certified production facility, and concluding with a special splash in The Library. And at Sutro Wine Co., vintner Alice Sutro will guide guests through her family’s architectural archives, a vineyard walk through Warnecke Ranch, and a tasting of four site-specific wines grown on the historic Chalk Hill estate.

The family at Ramazzotti Wines is offering their first-ever “Cal-Italian Experience,” a curated seated flight of all seven of their California-inspired Italian varietals, served in their Geyserville tasting room Thursday-Monday during Wine Week.

“We’re farmers, and we’re inviting you in to experience the land and the life we love,” said Jessie Vallery, Marketing & Operations Director of the Alexander Valley Winegrowers Association. “This week is about intimacy, connection, and offering people a genuine look at how we live, grow, and create here in Alexander Valley. Each of these excursions are hosted by the owners; the people who grow the grapes and make the wines – this is in their blood and this is just the kind of experience people can expect when visiting the valley; chatting over wine with the people who are boots on the ground out there, because we are farmers first. It’s incredibly special.”

Each experience is limited in size and available by reservation only.
