Napa, Calif., April 14, 2025 – Treasury Wine Estates (TWE), one of the world’s leading luxury wine companies, is reinforcing its commitment to making a meaningful impact in its local
communities, fostering strong partnerships and championing local causes through its Brighter Future Initiative.
Launched by TWE in 2023 following the acquisition of DAOU Vineyards, the Brighter Future Initiative recognizes the importance of contributing to the communities it calls home by actively engaging residents, businesses and organizations. The company’s contributions include tuition assistance for viticulture students at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) and a contribution to Napa Valley College’s new Wine and Hospitality Training Center, as well as donations to Napa Fire Wise and Paso Robles-based MUST! Charities.
Most recently, TWE has expanded its investments and evolved the Brighter Future Initiative, both by supporting the greater California community following the Los Angeles wildfires and driving positive change for generations to come, including:
- Supporting communities affected by LA wildfires by introducing a new employer donation-matching program to CORE (Children of Restaurant Employees) and raising nearly $7,000, in addition to its continued sponsorship at the Bronze level
- Providing assistance to firefighters, families of fallen firefighters, and their communities impacted by fires by donating a portion of proceeds from all California-based wineries to Cal Fire Foundation throughout February 2025
- Equipping the next generation with a foundation in agriculture, winemaking and hospitality through sustainable viticulture education programs by confirming two additional scholarships to Cal Poly
- Supporting the creation of a Wine and Hospitality Training Center to train hospitality staff in Napa and beyond through a donation to Napa Valley College’s Wine Education Complex project
- Fostering an inclusive work culture by contributing towards a scholarship fund for the Napa County Hispanic Network through its La Raza employee resource group within TWE’s Americas team
“We are committed to building a more sustainable and inclusive future in our region and the wine industry,” said Ben Dollard, President, Treasury Americas. “Through the Brighter Future Initiative, we’re taking meaningful action to support our communities, driving environmental stewardship by contributing to sustainable viticulture and hospitality education programs, and fostering diversity so the communities we cherish today can thrive for generations ahead.”
Beyond these community efforts, Treasury Wine Estates has made bold commitments to environmental sustainability and inclusion, like bolstering sustainability certification across leased and owned vineyards, reducing its scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 66% since 2021, and prioritizing policies and work processes that minimize bias. Specific examples in the Americas include:
- Launching Drop of Sunshine, created by a female-led team at Treasury Wine Estates and media company Hello Sunshine, to elevate women’s stories and reflect the diversity of wine consumers
- Working to reach global goal of Net-Zero emissions across scopes 1 and 2 by 2030
- Making one of the largest contributions to the Napa River Restoration, which aims to reinvigorate the Napa Valley through bringing the river and its flood banks to its natural habitats
- Elevating underrepresented voices through employee resource groups (ERGs) and the Empower Me program, a global sponsorship program for high potential talent
- Providing IE&D training and resources to support leadership in managing diverse perspectives, addressing unconscious bias, and ensuring that every employee is seen, heard, and valued
