The deepest soul of Collio makes its debut at Vinitaly 2025 with two labels of authentic, uncompromising character.
April 3, 2025 — Tenuta Stella, a winery nestled among the hills of Scriò, in the heart of the most authentic Collio region, presents two new labels marking a significant evolution in its journey: Friulano Riserva 2021 and Merlot Riserva 2021. These wines will be unveiled for the first time at Vinitaly 2025, offering an exclusive opportunity to discover these wines, designed to express the complexity of their terroir with even greater depth and refinement.
With the debut of these Reserves, the winery completes a high-profile trilogy, adding two new interpretations alongside its already established Ribolla Gialla Riserva. Together, they embody the most intense, long-lived, and vibrant expression of Collio.
A true reflection of Tenuta Stella’s winemaking philosophy, these wines are crafted through a meticulous grape selection process, a vinification that respects natural rhythms, and extended ageing in wood. The result is a living, multi-layered substance that serves as the voice of a landscape, a story, and a vision.
The Friulano Riserva 2021 comes from a historic vineyard planted in 1926 and matures for 24 months in second-passage tonneaux, revealing a complex aromatic profile with notes of orange zest, dried apricot, dried flowers, and spices. A wine of great tension and personality, built to stand the test of time and even surprise as a meditation wine. The Merlot Riserva 2021, made from seventy-year-old vines cultivated in Scriò, ages for two years in new French oak barriques. A rich and powerful red, that balances elegance with softness, fruit with spice, and stands out for its structure, harmony, and remarkable drinkability.
What sets these two labels apart is not only their oenological quality but also their aesthetic language: the new Reserves are part of the winery’s rebranding process, which has redefined its visual identity with a style that is essential, tactile, and evocative. Printed on recycled paper, the labels feature a refined and minimalist design, reflecting a concept of wine as a tribute to life, nature, and the silent work of time.
