Livermore Valley, Calif. (February 13, 2025) – Wente Vineyards, America’s longest continuously family-owned and operated winery, is proud to announce the launch of Wine Sisters Book Club, a new podcast by fifth-generation winegrowers and sisters, Niki and Aly Wente. Combining their love for books and wine, the Wine Sisters Book Club podcast offers a fun (often funny!) and engaging space for listeners to explore trending popular literature and wine culture alongside sisters and best friends who happen to be wine industry insiders.
Aly and Niki, both graduates of Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, have always shared a deep passion for storytelling—whether through the pages of a good book or in a perfectly paired glass of wine. In 2020, the sisters began hosting “Wine Wednesdays” on social media, a series dedicated to educating their audience on wine pairings. The overwhelmingly enthusiastic response to their videos inspired them to create a podcast that feels true to who they are: a lighthearted, soulful project that blends their love of reading, winemaking, and conversation.
“Our goal is to create a space where people can come together over a shared love of books and wine,” said Niki Wente, Director of Vineyards Operations at Wente Vineyards. “We want listeners to feel like they’re right there with us, having a glass of wine and chatting about life, literature, and everything in between.”
Aly, Senior Vice President of Marketing & Consumer experience at Wente Vineyards, added, “Niki is the book expert—I’m always looking to her for recommendations. This podcast gives us a chance to bring that dynamic to a wider audience and have some fun with it.”
Each month, the Wine Sisters Book Club will feature a new book, allowing listeners to read along and engage in the discussion. In addition to book reviews, Niki and Aly will share their latest wine discoveries—including selections from Wente Vineyards as well as some of their favorite other wineries—and partake in a blind tasting challenge where each sister brings a wine inspired by the book of the month for the other to guess.
The first episode, now available on Spotify and Apple Music, features a discussion on the book God of the Woods by Liz Moore (which they paired with Wente Vineyards 2022 Sandstone Merlot and Wente Vineyards 2022 Meritage.) The February pick, The Favorites by Layne Fargo, has been revealed on the podcasts Instagram page, where listeners can follow along for updates and upcoming selections.
New episodes of Wine Sisters Book Club will be released on the last Tuesday of every month. Book lovers, wine enthusiasts, and those curious about what life is like in a family-run winery can tune in for a blend of literary insights, wine education, and entertaining sisterly banter.
