Prestigious National and International Awards Received in 2024 Establish Vallepicciola as a “Winery of Excellence” in the Chianti Classico Region

Vallepicciola continues to stand out as one of the most dynamic and innovative wineries in Tuscany’s winemaking scene. Once again in 2024, the quality and excellence of its wines have been acknowledged on both national and international levels, with prestigious awards celebrating the passionate and meticulous work of a company that seamlessly combines tradition and modernity. Among the most awarded wines are the Chianti Classico and the Grand Cru line.

December 17th, 2024 (Castelnuovo Berardenga, Tuscany) – Vallepicciola ends an exceptional year packed with prestigious recognitions that further strengthen the winery’s position in the international wine landscape. With an estate spanning 275 hectares, including 107 hectares of vineyards dedicated to six different grape varieties, Vallepicciola produces 500,000 bottles annually across 17 labels. Its wines are crafted in a modern facility, perfectly integrated into the unique landscape of the Chianti Classico hills, where tradition and innovation merge in a constant pursuit of quality, earning recognition both in Italy and abroad.

CHIANTI CLASSICO
The Chianti Classico 2021 from Vallepicciola emerged as one of the most acclaimed wines of 2024, earning prestigious awards that established its value on an international scale. The highlight of this success was its 37th place in Wine Spectator’s Top 100, placing it among the best wines in the world. This achievement was further solidified by additional high ratings, including 98 points from Le Guide de L’Espresso, 92 points from Falstaff, and 91 points from both James Suckling and Guida Veronelli, along with 90 points from Luca Maroni. The 2022 production also received significant ratings: 4 Stars from Guida Vinibuoni d’Italia, and 91 points from James Suckling. The Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Lapina was equally celebrated, with the 2020 vintage earning the Tre Bicchieri award from Gambero Rosso, 4 Vines from Guida Vitae, 95 points from Luca Maroni, 93 points from Wine Spectator, 3 Stars from Guida Vinibuoni d’Italia, and The WineHunter Award Gold. The 2021 vintage garnered 98 points from Luca Gardini Notes, 94 points from Antonio Galloni Vinous, and 91 points from James Suckling. Topping off these successes, the Chianti Classico Riserva 2021 received 92 points from Antonio Galloni Vinous and 90 points from James Suckling.

GRAND CRU
Vallepicciola’s three Grand Cru, the winery’s signature wines, also earned prestigious recognition this year. The Vallepicciola Bianco 2022 IGT Toscana achieved 97 points from Luca Maroni, 90 points from James Suckling, and The WineHunter Award Rosso. The Vallepicciola Rosso 2021 IGT Toscana excelled with scores such as 96 points from Guida Veronelli, 95 points from Doctor Wine Daniele Cernilli and Luca Maroni, 94 points from Antonio Galloni Vinous, 93 points from Wine Spectator, and 92 points from James Suckling. It also earned 4 Stars from Guida Vinibuoni d’Italia, The WineHunter Award Gold, 90 points from Falstaff, and an extraordinary 99 points from Le Guide de L’Espresso for its 2022 vintage. Lastly, the Migliorè 2020 remained one of the winery’s standout wines, receiving 97 points from Guida Veronelli, 5 Grappoli from Bibenda, 94 points from both James Suckling and Luca Maroni, 93 points from Wine Spectator, 92 points from Antonio Galloni Vinous, and 90 points from Falstaff.

THE FULL RANGE OF VALLEPICCIOLA WINES
The Varietali wines also met great success in 2024. The Parva Domus Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 received 96 points from Luca Maroni, 95 points from Guida Veronelli, and 92 points from both Antonio Galloni Vinous and James Suckling. The Boscobruno Pinot Nero 2021 was awarded 94 points by Guida Veronelli and 91 points by James Suckling, while the Mordese Cabernet Franc 2021 earned 95 points from Guida Veronelli, 92 points from James Suckling, and The WineHunter Award Gold. Finally, the Quercegrosse Merlot 2021 garnered 95 points from Guida Veronelli and 92 points from James Suckling. The Pievasciata line also received further praise. The Pievasciata Rosso 2021 achieved 91 points from Wine Spectator and 90 points from Antonio Galloni Vinous, while the Pievasciata Pinot Nero 2021 and Pievasciata Chardonnay 2022 were awarded 90 and 91 points by James Suckling, respectively.

These recognitions once again confirm the exceptional quality of Vallepicciola’s entire range, which continues to stand out for its ability to best express the territory and its potential.
