Truett Hurst Opens New Tasting Barn in Downtown Healdsburg

The Hurst Family Invites the Community to Celebrate at their Grand Opening Event – Saturday, December 14th

December 11, 2024 (Healdsburg, CA) — Truett Hurst Winery is thrilled to announce the opening of its new Truett Hurst Tasting Barn by Shawn E. Hall Designs, a permanent home in the heart of downtown Healdsburg. This stunning space, designed by renowned Shawn E. Hall Designs, will debut with a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, December 14th, marking a significant milestone for the Hurst family and co-owner Ken Wilson as they reconnect with the Healdsburg community.

Located at 428 Hudson Street in the historic Old Roma Station, the Tasting Barn occupies 3,500 square feet of beautifully crafted space that once housed the original cellar of the French-American Wine Company, one of Healdsburg’s first wineries. This historic site, which operated from 1903 to 1920 near the bustling railroad, now comes full circle as Truett Hurst joins a collective of wineries right near the future Healdsburg SMART Train stop.

A Modern Vision of Heritage and Community
Shawn E. Hall Designs has reimagined the space, blending rustic charm with modern elegance. The whitewashed barn features soaring beam ceilings, cozy lounge areas, and a French-inspired conference room. Highlights include family-style tasting tables, a 20-foot tasting bar, and thoughtfully designed spaces for gathering and storytelling.

In early 2025, a lively front veranda will be added, complete with Truett Hurst’s signature red Adirondack chairs, offering the perfect spot to enjoy live music and sunny afternoons. The Tasting Barn will also serve as a gallery, showcasing the work of local artists. The inaugural exhibit features photographer Rob Scheid, whose large-format images of barns and wine country scenes evoke romance and nostalgia.
