Audeant Wines, Nysa Vineyard and Torii Mor Host Pinot Noir Wine Dinner July 25 in the Dundee Hills of Oregon

Meet and taste from Audeant, whose Pinot was hailed the best in North America at 2024 Decanter World Wine Awards

July 11, 2024, Dundee, OR – Three small-production boutique winemakers Audeant WinesNysa Vineyard, and Torii Mor Winery will come together on July 25 to pour their unique expressions of Pinot Noir from Nysa Vineyard. A high-elevation site planted in 1990, Nysa Vineyard has been the source for some of the most coveted wines of the Valley. For dinner, Chef Jody Kropf of Red Hills Market will be firing up the wood-fired oven to serve Northwest fare to pair with the wines.

This marks one of the first times Pinot lovers are able to meet Teal Walker and Andrew Riechers of Audeant wines since their Pinot noir was recognized among the world’s best at the 2024 Decanter World Wine AwardsAudeant Wines claimed the top score for Oregon wineries, as well as the top for Pinot Noir from North America, by earning a Platinum medal for its 2021 Luminous Hills Vineyard Pinot Noir, and a score of 97 points.

Audeant will be pouring their Pinot noir sourced from Nysa Vineyard, of which only 110 cases were produced. The farming is organic and sparing as the vines have achieved a lovely balance emphasizing the distinctive character of the site. Audeant wines are typically available only by allocation and the mailing list, so this marks a rare opportunity to taste these wines.

Similarly, at the July 25 dinner, Torii Mor will be pouring their 2021 Pinot Noir from Nysa Vineyard, which they describe as having a rich, bold and intense aroma, with layers of dark berries, cherries, blackberries, followed by floral notes of roses and elegant-rich earth-oak complexity. The texture is medium sweet, rich and concentrated, with mouth filling rich-sweet tannins, bringing heat, power, grace and elegance to the wine. The mouthfeel is concentrated, rich and lasting, an intense mouthful of flavors. The finish is very long and intense with concentrated dark fruit flavors, bright acidity, rich tannins, spiciness and oak complexity.

As well as Audeant and Torii Mor, vineyard designated Nysa grapes have been used by Ken Wright, Harry Peterson Nedry of Chehalem, Kelley Fox, Josh Bergstrom, 00 Wines when under Mike Etzel Jr., Lavinea, White Rose, Willful Wines, and Domain Nicholas Jay.

About Nysa Vineyard:
Planted from 1990 through 2006 on volcanic Jory soil, with basalt bedrock 8 to 12 feet below the surface, the 20 acres of densely spaced dry farmed vines yield highly concentrated fruit. Given this optimum site our vinicultural goals are to limit crop load, control disease, and allow physiologic maturity to manifest in tandem with optimum sugar and acid levels.
