June 5th – LOS ANGELES – Christie’s Wine Department in America is pleased to present Fine and Rare Wines Online: Featuring The Landmark Cellar, as part of Christie’s Luxury Week. The sale will close for bidding online on June 12, 2024.

Chris Munro Head of Wine & Spirits Department, Americas says: “We are delighted to present our June luxury week wine auction. The sale features The Landmark Cellar a collection brim full of rarities, including multiple vintages of Petrus, Romanée-Conti and Screaming Eagle. The collection also includes rare formats of the millennium 2000 vintage from Mouton Rothschild and highly sought after back vintages of Dom Pérignon. Elsewhere the sale highlights include original wooden cases of mature Bordeaux from the classic vintages of the 1980’s and 90’s – Petrus 1982 and 1989, Château Lafleur 1989 and 1990 and Château Lafite 1982. The sale concludes with a large offering of some of the Napa valley’s most iconic wines featuring multiple high quality recent vintages. A sale packed with desirable lots for wine lovers around the globe.”

Leading the sale is a pristine, highly curated selection from The Landmark Cellar, charting the highest points of Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Italy, and Napa Valley. In Burgundy, sought-after vintages of the flagship wines of DRCRousseau, and Roumier figure prominently. From Bordeaux, there is a majestic selection of First Growths spanning nearly four decades (1982 – 2020), in a variety of formats, while highly desirable bottlings of Petrus, Le Pin, and Lafleur carry the flag for the Right Bank. This cellar also spotlights a compelling line-up of Champagne, namely Salon, Krug, Dom Pérignon, and Cristal. Finally, the New World is centered around Californian legends Harlan and Screaming Eagle in multiple formats.

The sale continues with a notable collection featuring undisturbed Right Bank greats – including Cheval Blanc and La Conseillante, in full-case quantities, from back-to-back legendary vintages 1989 and 1990, inviting the opportunity to compare, contrast, or further cellar. Additional sale highlights include parcels of Californian icons Colgin, Kistler, and Peter Michael, as well as a well-cellared collection of mature Bordeaux, including “Super Seconds” from the ‘80s and ‘90s. The sale concludes with ancient Madeira from a knowledgeable collector and longtime friend of Christie’s.
