(May 22, 2024; ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.)— JP Clement, CEO and general manager of VARA Winery and Distillery, is excited to announce that VARA’s recently revamped tasting room adjacent to Balloon Fiesta Park in Albuquerque has opened its lawn for the summer season for friends and family to soak up the Southwestern sun. The urban winery and craft distillery, already a favorite among locals and in-the-know tourists, is thrilled to welcome guests to mix and mingle in the warm weather while enjoying delicious wines and cocktails under the big sky.
“The lawn at our Balloon Fiesta Park tasting room is an incredible spot to lay in the sun, laugh with friends, or spend quality time with family while sipping on craft New Mexican drinks,” says Clement. “We are thrilled to have one of the best summer spots in Albuquerque!”
On the lawn, guests are encouraged to bring their own food if they would like to enjoy a larger meal. The tasting room also carries a selection of local New Mexican-made snacks, including Cornivore Popcorn, Eldora Chocolate, and The Daily Jerky beef jerky. Kids and well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome to join in on the fun on the lawn.
The VARA Balloon Fiesta Park tasting room features the entire catalog of the winery’s unique still and sparkling wines made with grapes from New Mexico, California, and Spain. VARA’s impressive lineup of New Mexican spirits, including the award-winning High Desert Gin, Painted Sky Vodka, Estrella Blanca Rum, and Corona de Oro Gold Rum, are available along with a selection of craft mixers. The spirits are created to reflect the aroma and spirit of the New Mexican landscape – giving guests the opportunity to both taste and experience the Land of Enchantment as they enjoy their drinks al fresco.
The VARA Balloon Fiesta Park tasting room and lawn are located at 315 Alameda Blvd. NE in Albuquerque and are open Tuesday through Saturday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
