(April 16, 2024; Albuquerque, New Mexico)—JP Clement, CEO and general manager of VARA Winery and Distillery, is thrilled to announce that Carlos Perea, CEO and co-founder of agriculture technology innovation company Terra Vera, has joined VARA’s board of directors. Headquartered in Albuquerque, VARA brings together a passionate team of industry professionals who use innovative techniques to create wines and spirits that express a uniquely New Mexican point of view.
Perea will join VARA’s sitting board, which boasts industry leaders and stakeholders from the viticultural, technological, and entrepreneurial spaces. As a board member and senior executive with a proven track record of leadership and success in the space, Perea will provide strategic counsel on reinforcing VARA as a flagship spirits and wine producer within New Mexico and on the company’s national expansion.

Perea, who is based in Albuquerque, is an experienced impact entrepreneur focused on leveraging business to help solve important social and environmental issues. He co-founded Terra Vera in 2020 to provide innovative solutions to replace conventional pesticides and increase product safety and consumer confidence within multiple sectors of agriculture, including wine-grape growing. Perea is active in the Young Presidents Organization and is an advisor to several New Mexico-based impact organizations, including Skoden Ventures.
