Newberg, Ore. – (November 14, 2023) – Domaine de Broglie, The Family Coppola’s Willamette Valley winery known for its legacy of crafting exceptional wines, is delighted to announce its evolution into Domaine Lumineux, marking a significant milestone in the winery’s history. This significant transformation is accompanied by the eagerly anticipated relocation of the tasting room to the heart of downtown Newberg, Oregon, along HWY99, promising an even brighter future for the winery and welcome addition to Newberg’s vibrant food and wine scene.

The name Domaine de Broglie paid homage to owner Francis Ford Coppola’s fervent passion for scientific exploration, particularly the complex realm of quantum mechanics and the revolutionary works of Louis de Broglie in wave-particle duality. As Domaine Lumineux, the winery preserves its scientific roots while expanding its vision to celebrate the brilliance of all luminaries who have contributed to the comprehension of light and the intricate mysteries of the universe that quantum theory attempts to unravel.

“The new name signifies the profound connection between light and wine, inviting wine enthusiasts to contemplate the harmony of elements, energy, and craftsmanship encapsulated within each bottle,” said Erin Herrmann, Director of Operations of Domaine Lumineux.

Despite the transformative changes, Coppola remains at the helm with the same core team, ensuring a seamless continuation of the winery’s legacy. Winemaker Dave Petterson, an integral part of the winemaking process since 2007, will continue to craft exceptional vintages exclusively sourced from the winery’s own 42-acre Dundee Hills estate vineyard.

In an effort to elevate the overall wine-tasting experience, Domaine Lumineux is also excited to unveil the relocation of its tasting room to the bustling downtown area of Newberg. The new location, previously home to the esteemed Recipe Neighborhood Kitchen, is poised to become a premier destination for wine enthusiasts seeking an immersive wine tasting experience. Housed within an enchanting Victorian-style building, the tasting room will offer visitors the opportunity for both indoor and outdoor seated tastings, complemented by culinary-focused offerings and exclusive private events.

Situated amidst the vibrant downtown Newberg setting, guests are invited to immerse themselves in the local community by exploring nearby shops, restaurants, and cultural events, all within convenient walking distance. The much-anticipated new tasting room is scheduled to begin welcoming its first guests later this year, with the full unveiling of its new look and expanded offerings planned for early 2024.

“In light of the unfortunate tasting room fire that occurred at our hilltop vineyard in late 2021, we are immensely grateful for the unwavering support from the local community over the years; and at this time our desire to rebuild remains,” continued Herrmann. “In the meantime, Domaine Lumineux extends a warm invitation to wine enthusiasts to visit our new home in downtown Newberg.”
