Event and Sales Drive to Benefit Cancer Support Community Central Coast

October 12th – Paso Robles, CA—Ancient Peaks Winery today announced that Winebow, a leading national wine distributor, has pledged to support the winery’s second annual “Walk for Cancer” on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

The walk is a two-mile stroll through the winery’s estate Margarita Vineyard, concluding with tacos, music and a glass of wine.

For every case of Ancient Peaks Cabernet Sauvignon sold from October 14 – to October 24, Winebow will donate a portion to the cause with a matching donation from Ancient Peaks—all to amplify the impact of event. The goal is to collectively raise more than $10,000 during this period.

All proceeds from the walk and the sales drive will benefit Cancer Support Community Central Coast, a nonprofit dedicated to providing San Luis Obispo County cancer patients and their families with hope, education and support.

“Wine offers endless opportunities for human connection, joy and for doing good,” said Kristi Delovitch, Winebow Vice President of Wholesale Sales. “It is an honor for Winebow to partner with Ancient Peaks Winery for the second year to raise money for families going through cancer treatment in the Central Coast of California. Though we won’t be there physically for the walk on the ranch, we are very much there in spirit.”

“We cannot thank Winebow enough for stepping up to make a difference in our community,” said Kristin Muhly, VP of Sales & Marketing at Ancient Peaks.

“Cancer is a disease that ravages the body but also drains the family unit,” said Ancient Peaks Winery partner Cindy Wittstrom, a cancer survivor herself who notes that several people in the Ancient Peaks family have been affected by cancer. “The scientific community has made such extraordinary strides, but there is much more to conquer.”

She added, “When they say, ‘Enjoy each day,’ it is very true—no one knows that better than a cancer survivor. And that’s what we’re going to do: get outside together, soak up the natural beauty, enjoy the moment and make a difference for those in need.”

The “Walk for Cancer” will wind around Margarita Vineyard on the historic Santa Margarita Ranch, amid the dramatic backdrop of the Santa Lucia Mountains. The walk ends at the Oyster Ridge barn, a scenic indoor-outdoor venue steeped in rural beauty. At the conclusion of the walk, participants will enjoy tacos by La Parrilla Taqueria and a glass Ancient Peaks wine. Wine is for participants ages 21 and older, youth will be offered an assortment of juices.

About Ancient Peaks

Ancient Peaks is a family-owned winery specializing in wines from our sustainably farmed estate Margarita Vineyard in Paso Robles on California’s Central Coast. Margarita Vineyard stands alone in the Santa Margarita Ranch AVA of Paso Robles, nestled into the rugged Santa Lucia Mountain Range just 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The name Ancient Peaks honors the tall peaks surrounding Margarita Vineyard, which were forged by the collision of the coastal plates. Over time, these same geologic forces blessed us with five distinct soil zones—ancient sea bed, rocky alluvium, shale, volcanic and granitic—that bring natural complexity to our wines. Our tasting room is located in Santa Margarita. Visit www.AncientPeaks.com for more information.
