Fine Wine Importer Demeine Estates Announces US Market Launch for Haynes Vineyard, the Crown Jewel of Napa Valley’s Coombsville AVA

Napa Valley, CA (September 12, 2023) – Demeine Estates is thrilled to announce the launch of Haynes Vineyard in the US market, as the brand’s sales and marketing partner representing the distinguished Napa Valley winery with targeted distribution. The inaugural release will be available in market October 1 and Demeine Estates will kick off tomorrow a multi-city tour to introduce the single-estate Chardonnays, Pinot Noir and Syrah wines to buyers for the first time through curated tasting events in Dallas and Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, and New York City, NY.

Haynes is a collection of exceptionally vibrant, mineral driven, single-estate wines from the historic Haynes Vineyard in Napa Valley’s Coombsville AVA that launched in June 2023.

“We are thrilled to debut the cult wine of Coombsville, the legendary Haynes Vineyard, as a single-vineyard, estate winery as part of our portfolio of luxury California wines,” says Philana Bouvier, President of Demeine Estates. “Haynes Vineyard has deep roots in the Napa Valley, and the wines crafted from this elusive vineyard reflect a classic style and low intervention winemaking with natural farming.”

The historic Haynes Vineyard, originally purchased by James Whitford from Nathan Coombs in 1866, is comprised of a 43-acre parcel and includes 27 acres planted to vine. A lower elevation site with a sightline to the San Pablo Bay, this microclimate is distinguished by cooler temperatures, with winds and marine fog often billowing through and lingering amongst the rows of vines. The geographical influences on the prehistoric diatomaceous and volcanic soils and old vines distinguish the vineyard as one of Napa Valley’s most treasured sites capable of producing wines of generous structure with fresh acidity and minerality.

The new brand reflects the creative collaboration between Lawrence Wine Estates CEO and Master Sommelier Carlton McCoy, Jr. and Winemaker Nico Cueva to honor the pedigree and express the potential of this uniquely singular site. Haynes seeks to innovate the classic Napa Valley winemaking style through low intervention winemaking to craft wines of intent that allow the vineyard to take center stage. The wines showcase the symbiotic relationship between the prehistoric oceanic soils of Coombsville and the decades-old vines firmly rooted there, producing fruit of uncommon vibrancy and transparency of place.

Featured Haynes Vineyard wines, set for a limited release this Fall nationwide, will include Corazon Chardonnay ($250), Forgeron Chardonnay ($150), Vigneron Chardonnay ($125), Forgeron Pinot Noir ($150), and Forgeron Syrah ($150). Consumers can acquire Haynes and experience this special range at fine wine retailers and fine dining establishments across the US.

“Haynes Vineyard possesses a distinguished history, rooted in old vines, and the site has a rich story to tell, from vineyard to glass,” says Carlton McCoy, Jr., MS. “We are eager for consumers to experience Haynes at the great tables of the world, with equally great food, displaying the collection’s innate elegance and marked by a distinct intensely aromatic minerality and density. I believe it will become apparent that Haynes Chardonnay is collector-worthy, akin to White Burgundy.”
