Miami, FL, June 12, 2023 — Origins Organic Imports is introducing 2020 Pacific Roots Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington State’s Columbia Valley. CCOF-certified (California Certified Organic Farmers) and WBENC-accredited (Women’s Business Enterprise National Council), the wine lists at a competitive $18 SRP. Newly available in CA, CO, CT, KS, MN, NJ, NY, OR and WA, a national roll-out will follow.
Labid al Ameri and Anne Bousquet, owners of Origins Organic, are the creative duo behind Pacific Roots, which is the couple’s first stateside winemaking foray.
According to Labid al Ameri, “Columbia Valley’s Wahluke Slope shares many of the qualities of the Uco Valley, including a desert region and sandy loam soils. We ‘get’ this terroir, and that has enabled us to effectively use that knowledge to provide our customers with an affordable and high-quality organic wine.”
Located at the same latitude as the Bordeaux region in France, the vines grow on south-facing slopes on the Saddle Mountains at elevations of 1,100-1,500 feet. With its warm sunny days, cool nights, and a long, even growing season, these 100% Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley grapes are harvested at night, at temperatures in the high 30’s to low 40 degrees Fahrenheit, chilling the grapes naturally. On arrival at the winery, the still-chilled grapes undergo a cold soak and four months of extended lees contact following fermentation. To preserve freshness, the wine was 100% stainless steel-fermented and -aged. Pacific Roots Cabernet Sauvignon is a well-balanced, aromatic red, distinguished by dark, ripe, yet fresh-fruit flavors of plum, cherry, and black currant.
