Festival Napa Valley Appoints David Shimmon to Its Board of Directors

NAPA, Calif. (April 12, 2023) – Festival Napa Valley is pleased to announce the appointment of David Shimmon to its Board of Directors. California wine country’s flagship festival is the largest nonprofit cultural institution in Napa County, with a mission to make the arts accessible to all.

“We are thrilled to welcome David to our exceptional board, now numbering 31 vintners and community leaders,” said board chairman Robin Baggett, proprietor of Alpha Omega, Tolosa, and Perinet wineries. “He brings a wealth of experience and a passion for the arts, and we will benefit greatly from his leadership and guidance.”

Shimmon is a technology entrepreneur and arts advocate with over 25 years of experience and leadership in the semiconductor and related industries. He has served as chairman, chief executive officer, advisor, or board member to many companies and as president of Fortune 500 company U.S. Filter Corporation.

In addition to his business initiatives, David has enjoyed an active presence in his community with a focus on education, medicine, and youth activities. He has served on the boards of several not-for-profit groups and government-sponsored economic and social policy councils, including the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco (DeYoung and Legion of Honor), California Pacific Medical Center Foundation, Town School for Boys, The Branson School, and more. He is an executive board member of the San Francisco Host Committee, supporting the Mayor’s Office of Protocol in showcasing the city to the world.

David is also a wine enthusiast, is passionate about opera, and enjoys travel. He resides in San Francisco with his wife Mary Beth and has two children, Alison Julia and David, Jr.
