Mendocino Wineries Are Promoting Climate Awareness Through an Innovative Sheep Grazing Party on Earth Day

April 11th – At Duncan Peak Vineyards and Terra Sávia, we take pride in our organic farming and our love for nature. Every year, we welcome our adorable furry friends to the vineyard to help us with weed control.

This year, we are excited to invite you to our first-ever Sheep Grazing Party, to celebrate this unique partnership on 4/22/2023 (Earth Day!) 11am – 4pm at Duncan Peak Vineyards: 14500 mountain house rd, Hopland, CA, 95449. Please scan the QR code to RSVP as space is limited.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness regarding the impact of global warming. As grape farmers, we can deeply experience the changes that occur every year. Extreme weather, droughts, and floods have become more and more severe in recent years. We realized what we can do is not resist nature, but coexist harmoniously with it. This is why we chose organic farming in the first place. Allowing our sheep to help us weed can effectively reduce carbon emissions, and the excrement from small animals is also the best soil nutrient.

Additionally, we hope that this experience will allow individuals to gain a personal understanding of the importance of preserving the environment and appreciate the beauty that nature can offer.

Join us as we open our vineyard to the public, giving guests the chance to get up close and personal with our animal friends, including sheep, donkeys, calves, dogs, and cats, all while taking in the breathtaking views of the vineyard. In addition to the sheep grazing event, we’ll also be offering our expertise on organic farming and sustainable practices. As part of the experience, you’re invited to sample our exquisite wines made from our very own organic vineyards, as well as other unique merchandise such as olive oil, tea, candles, and more.

With over 100 acres of land, there’s plenty to explore on the property. So pack your gear and picnic mat, bring your hiking shoes and bikes, and escape for a weekend retreat at our vineyard.
