Nutrient Management Techniques for Grape Growers – New Date

March 3rd – PLACERVILLE, CA: The El Dorado Wine Grape Growers Association welcomes Brent Huston of Wilbur-Ellis Agribusiness as the guest speaker at the March 15, grape grower meeting. This is the new date for the February 22nd meeting that was postponed due to snow. The March 15 meeting will begin at 6:00pm at Skinner Vineyards & Winery located at 8054 Fairplay Road, Somerset. There is no charge to attend and all interested growers, vintners and members of the public are invited.

Huston will discuss critical cultural practices such as: identifying the signs and symptoms of common grape deficiencies and toxicities; how and when to sample soil and tissue for analysis; and proper timing and technique for fertilizing. Bring your experiences and questions.

About Brent Huston

He was born and raised in El Dorado County where his family still farms stone and pome fruit. After graduating from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Plant Science, Brent worked as an Equipment Supervisor for Delicato Family Vineyards in King City. In 2018, he joined Wilbur-Ellis as a sales agronomist and has assisted a variety of growers with different crops including almonds, rice, and walnuts.
