Pinot Noir Legend Dan Kosta Reveals New ‘Convene’ Label (And How You Can Get Your Hands on It)

August 23, 2022—HEALDSBURG, CA-– Dan Kosta, the ultra-premium Pinot Noir pioneer and co-founder of cult wine sensation Kosta Browne, announced the launch of his new wine label today. Convene, which will be released via mailing list and wine club on September 8, showcases Kosta’s extensive experience with Pinot Noir, and his continuous pursuit of the blend.

A Sonoma County native, Dan Kosta’s experience as a vintner spans more than two decades. After co-founding Kosta Browne with Michael Browne in 1997, Kosta’s name became synonymous with Pinot Noir as he traveled the world sharing his award-winning wines. His exploration of the grape continued with AldenAlli, which he founded in 2013 as a collaboration with celebrity Chef Emeril and his wife Alden Lagasse.

“Convene is the next chapter of our journey,” said Kosta. “With strong connections that we’ve built over the years, we’re working with outstanding growers within the most desirable wine regions in the world to craft these wines. At the end of the day, we want friends and families to come together to share in the pleasure of this experience.”

The inaugural release of Convene, which falls under Kosta’s umbrella company DK Wine Group, will feature three signature bottlings: Russian River Valley Chardonnay ($56), Russian River Valley Pinot Noir ($62), and Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir ($62). All three wines are appellation blends, which Kosta and winemaker Shane Finley claim to be part of the magic of Convene.

“Blends can be some of the most intriguing wines to make,” commented Shane Finley, who has collaborated on wine projects with Dan since 2006 at Kosta Browne. “Single vineyard wines are pure expressions of terroir; they are focused on what the site does best. Blends, in contrast, present the challenge of harmonizing disparate vineyards and all their unique characteristics. The process of melding multiple vineyards into a true representation of its appellation is tremendously rewarding.”

For those eager to have a taste, the new releases can be sampled at the Convene Wine Lounge at Bacchus Landing in Healdsburg starting September 8, while supplies last. To join the mailing list and receive an invitation to the Fall Offer, please visit www.dk-convene.com.
