Historic Sonoma Winery reopens after Devastating Tasting Room Fire
SONOMA, CA – July 27, 2022– Larson Family Winery is back in the saddle again! The historic Sonoma winery will be reopening their doors to the public beginning Thursday, August 4th , just five months after a devastating structure fire destroyed the barn-turned-tasting room, plus decades worth of family, winery, and Sonoma Rodeo memorabilia. Larson Family and Team members have been working tirelessly around the clock to prepare the back pad, curate new visit experiences, and put all the finishing touches on the guest experience.
Larson will welcome guests back with new hours and days of operation. Tasting Experiences will be available Thursday through Sunday, with 90-minute visits starting at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM by reservation. All experiences will take place outdoors on the tasting pad, amidst acres of estate vineyards framed by beautiful views of the Carneros appellation. Visit Larson Family Winery’s website to book a tasting or call the tasting room at 707.938.3031 extension 20.
A nod to the land’s history as the site of the Sonoma Rodeo from 1920s through 1950s they are offering two tasting flights; “This Ain’t Our First Rodeo” ($35) which is a delightful introduction to the variety of wines Larson has to offer, plus the “The Gold Buckle Flight” ($45) which showcases all gold-medal-winning Larson wines. Larson Wine Club Members can partake in the new flights as part of their twelve complimentary tastings per year.
Experiences can be enjoyed at comfortably casual picnic tables, or guests can explore upgraded seating options such as cabanas, the vineyard view area, or Larson’s brand-new, gorgeous hardwood gliders. If you’re looking for group fun, consider booking Larson’s bocce court or new pasture Cornhole offering. Come check out the apparel barrels, and the great deli options that pair beautifully with Larson’s exclusive estate wines.
For additional high-flying fun, the generous folks at Sonoma Ballooning have donated hot-air balloon certificates to be raffled off during the first weekend reopened. If you win them, you may just be lucky enough to land in Larson’s Vineyards and be greeted by the Three Cab Labs, who are often so excited to see these early morning visitors!
With the re-opening of the new tasting area and experience, comes new hospitality leadership. The Larsons are ecstatic to announce the appointment of a new tasting room manager, Hayden Puryear. Hayden, a Tennessee transplant, has worked throughout the winery in various capacities – Tasting Room Associate, Operations, Bottling and Production – and brings this array of knowledge to his new role.
