Carlos Serres Celebrates 125 Years of Winemaking History with a New Look

Niles, IL – August 1st, 2022 – Bodega Carlos Serres celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2022 by looking to the past, to the iconic figure and values of the founder Charles Serres, to Rioja and the Haro terroir. The new revamped brand logo design and packaging is based on this inspiration of the founder’s story.

Behind the brand’s new mantra, “Bringing back memories” lies an entirely different approach to all present and future initiatives of centuries-old Spanish winery. The new label for Carlos Serres wines reflects their history and heritage. Carlos Serres has been designed in a high-end package including signature foil for their 125th anniversary.  This strengthens a decades long research process on the founder’s past accomplishments as well assistance Charles gave toward advancement within wine industry throughout Rioja.

The 125th anniversary highlights the winery’s commitment to innovation and sustainability eco-friendly viticulture, and organically farmed vineyards, in the Rioja Alta subregion.  The century-old winery has recovered its iconic Rioja brand, Carlomagno, and re-bottled an exclusive limited-edition library vintage 1970 to celebrate its anniversary.

In addition to the iconic range, both the Carlos Serres Reserva and Gran Reserva wines are made with grapes sourced from the Finca El Estanque estate vineyard located in Haro. The 60-hectare (150 acres) estate was partially planted in 1980 and later expanded in the 1990s. It is one of the first vineyards in Rioja to be espalier-trained to take advantage of the cool winds and better adapt to the Atlantic-influenced climate of the Rioja Alta subregion.

The Carlos Serres range includes: Rioja Blanco (SRP: $12), Organic Rioja Tempranillo (SRP: $12), Rioja Crianza (SRP: $14), Rioja Reserva (SRP: $18), Rioja Gran Reserva (SRP: $24) and a new Sparkling wine, Carlos Serres Sparkling Brut (SRP: $23) and Carlomagno Gran Reserva 1970 (SRP: $250)
