(July 21, 2022 – Windsor, CA) — Michael Browne, owner of Browne Family Wines, which includes CHEV and CIRQ wines, announces the appointment of Jeremiah Timm, winemaker of his iconic Family winery, located in the heart of the Russian River Valley.
“We are thrilled to have Jeremiah lead our winemaking team,” says Michael Browne. “Our shared passion for wine started while we worked together, creating the Kosta Browne wines in 2008. Working alongside Jeremiah, I believe that his work ethic, immense attention to detail, and integrity are paramount to who he is, showcased in the intense and elegantly refined wines he makes.”
After a trip with his aunt to the great wine regions of France in his teen years, Jeremiah came back to the U.S. with a keen interest in the finer points of viticulture and winemaking. He soon landed a job with Wollersheim Vineyards in his home state of Wisconsin where he spent 8 years learning the business from the ground up. It was at this winery that he would learn everything from planting and managing vines, processing grapes during harvest, and performing basic lab work.
Upon graduating, he landed an intern position at Kosta Browne for the 2008 crush and was hired back in 2010, initially as the enologist. He quickly elevated to Assistant Winemaker, and then Director of Winery Operations in 2015 working closely with Browne. He has been an integral part of CIRQ since its initial launch in 2011, and again with Browne Family Wines in 2018. Jeremiah leads the production crew and works tirelessly in the winery and vineyards to ensure the finest quality control measures continue to uphold Browne Family Wine’s place as a premier Pinot Noir producer.
“I could not be more excited for the opportunity to craft the CHEV & CIRQ wines at Browne Family Wines,” says Timm. “I’ve worked hard to get here and I’m grateful beyond words for the chance to continue working with Michael Browne, my production team, and with an exceptional group of family growers to make wines from some of the best sites in Sonoma County and beyond.”
The private estate winery, located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, is a hilltop gem. Renovations will be completed in early fall 2022, and accessible by appointment and availability. Surrounded by spectacular 360-degree views, the property is the perfect fit for CHEV and CIRQ and will be their permanent home for many years to come.
