Industry veteran brings expertise to Windsor winery

Windsor, Sonoma County, June 2022 – Rob Lorenz has joined Notre Vue Estate Winery & Vineyards as Director of Hospitality and DTC Sales, according to an announcement by Estate General Manager Geoffrey Thompson and owner Reneé Stein.

“We are thrilled that someone of Rob’s caliber and DTC expertise has joined our team and will help us grow the experiences we offer guests both in the tasting room and in the vineyard,” Thompson and Stein said.

“I’m excited to tap into the enormous potential of this wonderful estate,” Lorenz commented. “We currently have two separate venues for tasting, but that really is just the tip of the iceberg. Notre Vue is already a great place to visit. My goal is to assist the Notre Vue team in making the Estate one of the premier destinations in wine country,” he added.

Most recently, Rob was the Estate Director at Coursey Graves in Bennett Valley. He now brings his more than 25 years of direct-to-consumer marketing and sales experience in the wine business to Notre Vue. His experience encompasses upper management roles in independently owned wineries as well as in larger wine companies. He has launched DTC programs and established clubs for wineries. Other wineries where he has worked include Chalk Hill Estate, Sterling Vineyards and Geyser Peak. He has worked as an instructor/trainer for the WISE Academy since its inception in 2009 and has also acted as its Director of Business Development.

Reneé Stein and her late husband Bob founded Notre Vue Estate in 1992 after discovering the beauty of its natural rustic elegance and, in particular, its breathtaking views of the rolling hills and vineyards of Sonoma County. To ensure that the beauty lives on for future generations, Bob and Reneé dedicated 350 acres of the property as a “forever wild” nature preserve in perpetuity back in 1997. Notre Vue Estate encompasses 710 acres of land in both the Chalk Hill and Russian River Valley appellations. The vineyards are planted to 16 varietals on elevations ranging from 200 to 700 feet.

Winemaker Alex Holman makes both the Balverne and Notre Vue Estate lines of wines, which carry Chalk Hill and Russian River appellations.

The winery is located at 11010 Estate Lane in Windsor (95492). Tasting appointments are required and are available Thursdays – Mondays from 11-3:30.

The winery offers numerous special events. Upcoming are Naughty Fox happy hours and Pink Moment, among others. Details are here.
