Event featured Bagwell, Biggio & Jackson; Proceeds benefit the Astros Foundation

HOUSTON, TX – The Astros hosted the Inaugural Hall of Fame Charity Wine Event on Friday, April 1, and raised over $500,000 for the Astros Foundation.

The event, which was held at the Gallagher Club inside Minute Maid Park, attracted over 250 guests and included wine tasting, entertainment, food stations and a silent auction. The food menu was curated and provided by Danny Trace, Executive Chef at Potente, with individual course pairings of wine specially provided by Aperture Cellars Wine.

“The Inaugural Hall of Fame Wine event was a huge success,” said Paula Harris, Executive Director of the Astros Foundation. “We are grateful to our corporate partners, our special guests, and our event partners, Potente and Aperture Cellars  – who stepped up to ensure all of our guests had a memorable experience while continuing to support our commitment to the Houston community.”

Hall of Famers Jeff Bagwell, Craig Biggio and Reggie Jackson were a part of the event, signing autographs and taking photos with guests. Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane and his wife, Whitney, also took part in the event.  And, special for this event, Aperture Cellars created limited edition, custom-labeled bottles of wine for Bagwell, Biggio and Jackson, and for Jim and Whitney Crane.

“Our Hall of Famers were a wonderful addition with their signed, collectable wine bottles available for purchase,” Harris said. “The Jim and Whitney signed collectable wine bottles also provided a nice touch as gifts for our guests.”

Fans interested in purchasing these limited edition, custom-labeled bottles of wine can send an email to wineeventrsvp@astros.com.

“We are thrilled to add another exciting, special event to our Astros Foundation calendar,” said Jim Crane. “We continue to be committed to investing in the Houston community and are very appreciative of our fans and corporate partners for supporting this event.

“It was an exciting night, and I am confident that our guests had a very special Astros experience. Baggy, Craig and Reggie were a big part of the event and we certainly appreciate their time.  The Houston community came together to raise funds to impact our pillars of youth baseball, childhood cancer,  military appreciation, homelessness, and domestic violence.”
