The Texas vineyard also received three “Reserve Texas Class Champion” designations.

Stonewall, Texas – December 8, 2021 – Kuhlman Cellars is delighted to announce that  five of their wines were awarded medals at the Houston Rodeo Wine Competition this month: two gold medals and three silver medals. Kuhlman Cellars’ 2017 Astéries and 2017 Ignis won gold medals, with 2018 Sangiovese, 2020 Estate White, and 2017 Gypsum winning silver. Most notably, Kuhlman Cellars also received three “Reserve Texas Class Champion” designations for their 2018 Asteries, 2017 Ignis, and 2018 Sangiovese.

These awards follow the two gold medals Kuhlman Cellars won at the Lone Star International Wine Competition in October for the 2017 Gypsum and 2017 Barranca as well as gold and silver medallions awarded at the prestigious Concours International de Lyon Wine Competition in France last summer.

“We are particularly pleased to have earned the Reserve Texas Class Champion designation for three of our wines reflecting our wine quality and consistency across vintages,” says Kuhlman Cellars co-founder Chris Cobb. “Texas wine continues to shine on the international stage and win awards when judged against other wines from around the world.”
