October 22nd – RUTHERFORD, CA – Rutherford Dust Society, the premier association of vintners, growers and community of Napa Valley’s Rutherford sub-appellation, is pleased to present the Rutherford Wine Collection, an exclusive selection of critically-acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon and elegant red wines from its member wineries.

The “dust” of Rutherford is one of Napa Valley’s most succinct terms, evoking in four simple letters a specific place and a complex set of flavors. With its second consecutive annual release, the Rutherford Wine Collection is becoming somewhat of a collector’s guide to Napa Valley’s most historic AVA. Ranging from reserve Cabernet Sauvignon to single-vineyard Merlot, the new edition features seventeen Rutherford appellation wines from the spectacular 2018 Napa Valley vintage, including:

  • 2018 Akrasia Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon Line of Fire Vineyard
  • 2018 Beaulieu Vineyard Rutherford Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2018 Chaix Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2018 Conn Creek Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon
  • 2018 Cornerstone Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford
  • 2018 Davis Estates Cabernet Sauvignon Rutherford
  • 2018 Frank Family Vineyards RHF Cabernet Sauvignon

In celebration of this release, Rutherford Dust Society has partnered with Karen MacNeil, best-selling author of The Wine Bible and online newsletter WineSpeed, to create a series of live virtual tastings during the week of November 8-12. Registration for MacNeil’s “Defining the Dust” series with Rutherford winemakers is available here. The schedule is as follows:

  • Monday, November 8 at 5pm PT with Trevor Durling of Beaulieu Vineyard, Steve Tonella of S. R. Tonella Cellars, and Jeff Cole of Sullivan Rutherford Estate

  • Thursday, November 11 at 5pm PT with Rebekah Wineberg of Quintessa, Molly Hill of Sequoia Grove, and Elizabeth DeLouise-Gant of Conn Creek

As an exclusive perk, purchasers of the Rutherford Wine Collection will also be rewarded with a one-year consumer membership in Rutherford Dust Society. Members receive invitations to private events throughout the year, including Cabernet by the Bay, quarterly vineyard walks, and Rutherford’s infamous vintner chili cookoff during the first weekend in August.

“The incredible pedigree of Rutherford appellation has, over time, created a fellowship amongst winemakers and consumers,” stated Rutherford Dust Society’s Executive Director Sara Soergel. “By combining Rutherford AVA wine, rich educational experiences, and membership in our community, the Rutherford Wine Collection offers a unique opportunity for enthusiasts to connect and with the wines that they enjoy on a whole new level.”

The Rutherford Wine Collection is available on the association’s website for a limited time. Visit rutherforddust.org/wine-collection by Friday, November 12 to acquire and learn more.
