New Prosecco DOC Joins U.S.’s number one imported Riesling in RELAX lineup
NAPA, Calif., Sept. 16, 2021 – Delicato Family Wines, the fifth-largest wine supplier1 in the United States and exclusive importer for RELAX Wines, announced today the addition of a Prosecco DOC to the RELAX Wines portfolio. RELAX Wines is the number one German brand2 in the U.S.; the addition of the Prosecco expands the RELAX offering into the hottest category in the U.S. wine industry, Prosecco DOC.
“Sales of Prosecco are up 21% over the last year, and now account for 25% of all sparkling wine sales in the U.S., making it the fastest-growing wine category in the U.S.,” noted Mary Wachowicz, portfolio director for Delicato Family Wines.
“RELAX has excellent consumer pull and loyalty among U.S. wine consumers, and we think the combination of a strong brand and a hot category is a winning one,” Wachowicz continued. The RELAX Prosecco joins the RELAX lineup that includes the number one selling imported Riesling in the U.S., as well as RELAX Rosé and two other sparkling wines: Bubbles and Rosé Bubbles.
RELAX Prosecco is a DOC Italian sparkling white wine made from the traditional Glera grape, an ancient variety that maintains vibrant acidity at full ripeness, making it ideal for producing crisp, fruity sparkling wines. RELAX Prosecco offers vibrant, lively bubbles and a palate defined by refreshing white peach and light citrus flavors. The wine will be available nationwide in October 2021 and has a suggested retail price of $14.99.
