July 15th – Korbel distributor, Steve Ziner of Horizon Beverage in New England, took home 2nd place at the Korbel Hole-In-One Contest on July 9, 2021 during the American Century Celebrity Golf Tournament held in Lake Tahoe, NV. Not an easy feat, as he was playing against sports greats Patrick Mahomes, Roger Clemons, Michael Strahan, CC Sabathia, Travis Kelce, and Kelly Slater who thrive on competition. Also, tough competitors, popular entertainers and tournament veterans Ray Romano, Alfonso Ribeiro, Rob Riggle, Brian Baumgartner, and Larry the Cable Guy shine in the limelight. However, new to the tournament this year, actor Michael Peña, edged out Ziner by a mere 2 inches slamming it home with a powerful swing, landing just 16 feet 4 inches from the hole, taking 1st place.
Earlier in the day, Ziner had come in 1st among a field of Korbel distributors in attendance to earn his seat in the competition with the celebrities.
Ziner may not have taken the trophy but he made Korbel proud. The Korbel Hole-In-One aired on NBC’s live broadcast on July 11th.
