SALINAS, CA — May 18, 2021 — Scheid Family Wines in the Monterey AVA of California’s Central Coast is pleased to welcome Rick Pettiford to the Northeast Sales team as an Area Manager covering Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. They are also excited to welcome Kate Hart as a Senior Brand Manager on the Marketing team.
Rick Pettiford brings more than twenty years of industry sales experience to Scheid Family Wines. Most recently, he worked as the New England Territory Manager for FitVine Wine and is an expert in selling the “Better for You” category. Prior to that, Pettiford held sales positions for Baystate Wine & Spirits, Heavy Seas Beer, and Horizon Beverage. “Rick works with a contagious enthusiasm for the brands he represents. He is a highly motivated sales manager known for his ability to produce impressive sales results, penetrate new markets, and grow market share while enhancing profitability,” stated Tony Stephen, Chief Sales Officer for Scheid Family Wines.
Kate Hart comes to the marketing team with five years of wine industry marketing leadership. Previously with The Wine Group, Hart managed TWG’s private label brand portfolio and, most recently, managed Franzia, TWG’s largest brand. While with TWG, Hart was recognized as “Smarketer of the Year.” Prior to her time with TWG, Hart honed her skills as a CPG marketer while managing food and beverage products for large corporations such as Nestle, Safeway, and Dole. “Kate is known in the industry for the growth and success of her brands. Her team-player attitude, combined with an innovative approach and passion for the wine industry, makes Kate a great addition to our team,” noted Jennifer Evans, Marketing Director for Scheid Family Wines.
Pettiford lives in Brockton, Massachusetts with his wife, Nilaja. They have two grown sons and just celebrated 31 years of marriage. Hart is a Monterey Peninsula native and currently resides in Salinas, California. She has one grown son and is both a dog and cat lover. In their spare time, Pettiford enjoys reading motivational books and Hart can be found umpiring baseball games throughout Monterey County.
