The Emissary toasts to the world’s first prosecco DOC rosé harvest season

(London, 23rd September 2020) Following the successful launch of The  Emissary Prosecco DOC Treviso Spumante Extra-Brut and The  Emissary Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut, two premium prosecco products created especially for the UK market, The Emissary is delighted to announce that the first harvest is underway to create a prosecco DOC rosé. Paving the way for a new generation of wine drinkers, the new Emissary Prosecco DOC Rosé Treviso Millesimato 2020 will be made from Glera and Pinot Noir grapes with a highly curated, well-balanced flavour profile to fit alongside the existing  products from the trailblazing British prosecco brand.

Following Italian government approval on the production of rosé prosecco  in May 2020, the first of the grapes were picked at the Emissary’s vineyards in Treviso in Veneto,  Italy, earlier this month. As part of his dedication to bring innovative, unforgettable and superior prosecco to the UK, The Emissary founder Ed Smith will next be developing a distinguished rosé  product tailored to the taste preferences of the UK’s prosecco and rosé wine lovers – refreshing  and crisp with a delicate pink hue and subtle floral scents of rose, perfectly suited for social  occasions. 100% vegan, low in sugar and created using environmentally friendly techniques, each  step of The Emissary winemaking process is meticulously managed to ensure the highest quality  prosecco – from the growing of the vines to the production of the bottles.

“The new industry regulations present a milestone for the prosecco category and I am honoured  to be a Brit at the forefront of this innovation. The UK is the world’s biggest prosecco export market and we’re continuing to see an increased demand – it is now just as ingrained in British culture as  it is in Italy, so I’ve loved developing a brand that resonates with Brits whilst maintaining the Italian  heritage and passion that makes prosecco so unique. After spending many months searching the foothills of the Dolomites for the perfect, family-owned vineyard to help me craft a perfectly balanced prosecco DOC and DOCG, I’m now looking forward to evolving The Emissary portfolio with the creation of a premium DOC rosé designed for the UK market.” Says Ed, AKA ‘The Emissary’.

An instantly recognisable brand choice for the discerning palate, The Emissary emulates all the characteristics of its founder – adventurous, contemporary and sociable. The first two products come in a heavy black glass bottle, with statement, distinctive labelling. The Emissary Prosecco DOC Treviso Spumante Extra-Brut launched in 2018 at the London Wine Fair – a dry, refreshing prosecco with just 4g/l of residual sugar and fewer calories than most. More recently, The Emissary Asolo Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut launched in July  2020 – made from only the finest selection of grapes and with 8g/l residual sugar.
