Moss Becomes Tenth Canadian Master of Wine

(Okanagan Valley, British Columbia)— August 31, 2020—The Institute of Masters of Wine announced last week that Canadian Geoffrey Moss, 31, has passed the Masters of Wine program and has earned the title of Master of Wine (MW). The MW certification is generally regarded in the wine industry as one of the highest standards of professional knowledge, and Moss has passed all three parts of the Institute’s Examination, which consists of theory and practical exams, and culminates in the submission of a final research paper. Moss’ research paper was titled “A Case Study: Factors Affecting Wine Club Termination for Nine California Wineries.”

Moss is the Principal of Lithica Wine Marketing, a boutique marketing agency based in British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. Lithica serves the global wine industry with a focus on branding and design, direct-to-consumer sales and marketing, content creation and Canadian market development. The company also specializes in new winery projects and brand launches and has expertise in every aspect of new winery development: architecture and design consulting, strategic sales and marketing plan development, as well as marketing and branding execution.

Prior to founding Lithica Wine Marketing, Moss worked for some of the leading wineries in Canada. He is also a wine writer and critic, with contributions to Gismondi on Wine.

Moss brings an expansive educational and experiential background to his work. Moss holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from McGill University, a Winery and Viticulture Technical Diploma from Niagara College and completed Master of Business Administration coursework at Brock University before dedicating himself to the Master of Wine program. Additionally, Moss worked his way through the WSET program, completing the WSET Level 4 Diploma in 2015.
