ELLICOTTVILLE, NY – Empire Brewing Company is bringing back an old favorite with a new twist. Deep Purple is a delicious ale brewed with 100% Concord Grapes and now in collaboration with Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards. This brew is a long-time Empire favorite that has been brewed since the 90s. The new Empire brew team is excited to carry on such legacy with their new collaboration partners.

The Hazlitt family has been growing superb grapes on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, NY for over 150 years. Established in 1984, Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards continues the family tradition of award-winning viticulture and
wine production. Its internationally renowned wines include Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Cabernet Franc. Most notably, Hazlitt is best known for its flagship wine brand Red Cat, one of the most popular and best-selling New York State wines.

“This is an amazing opportunity for us”, said Daniel DeBell, Executive VP for Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards.  “This collaborative project with Empire Brewing was a unique opportunity to put wine makers and brewers together to create a fantastic Concord grape infused beer product. The cooperative marketing efforts help shine the spotlight on two spectacular New York State businesses.  We look forward to growing our partnership through new collaborations in the future.”

This light and refreshing fall beer pairs well with strong cheeses like cheddar, rich chocolates, salty foods like roasted nuts, spicy seafood, and barbecued meats. Deep Purple is available now for a limited time across the brewery’s distribution network. Sister brewery to Empire, Ellicottville Brewing is excited to partner with Hazlitt 1852 Vineyards for the next collaboration brew, details to follow.
