Hahn Family Wines Promotes Thomas Duhameau to President

CFO Duhameau takes the helm at leading Central Coast wine company

Soledad, CA – August 4, 2020 – Hahn Family Wines, the family-owned, Santa Lucia Highlands-based producer of luxury and super-premium wines, announces the promotion of Thomas Duhameau to the role of President, effective immediately. Duhameau joined Hahn Family Wines in 2012 as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President. His contributions were quickly felt within the company. In 2015, he was named “CFO of the Year” by the North Bay Business Journal.

“Over the last 8 years, I’ve been incredibly impressed with Thomas’ grasp of our strategic direction, his impeccable command of the nuances and detail of winery accounting, and understanding of what makes brands work in the market,” said Chairman Philip Hahn. “We have always looked to first promote from within our organization, so this appointment is exciting for all of us. He and I are looking forward to continuing to lead Hahn Family Wines to greater heights.”

Duhameau replaces Tony Baldini who led Hahn Family Wines as President since 2013. Baldini started as General Manager, then became President, and was promoted to CEO in 2018. The Hahn family credits Baldini with helping the company evolve into one of the leading producers of luxury and estate wines from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Baldini leaves the company to pursue another opportunity. “I want to personally thank Tony for his leadership and accomplishments over the past 9 years. We wish him every success in his next endeavor,” said Philip Hahn.

About Hahn Family Wines

Family-owned and operated, Hahn Estate is located in the Santa Lucia Highlands (SLH) appellation of Monterey County, California. Founders Nicolaus (Nicky) and Gaby Hahn purchased land in Monterey County in the late 1970s and have produced quality wine for almost 40 years (1980). Early on, Nicky Hahn saw the wine grape growing potential of SLH, and in 1988, spearheaded efforts to establish SLH as an American Viticulture Area (AVA). Today, Hahn Family Wines owns one of the largest shares of planted vines in the region, farming 650 vineyard acres in the SLH and another 450 acres in the nearby Arroyo Seco AVA. Hahn’s estate vineyards feature alluvial soil terroir and cool micro-climates, ideal for growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and other varietals.
