Ft. Lauderdale, FL – (June 26, 2020) – The Rosé Competition 2020, is pleased to announce two fabulous wines won the recent Competition, held at The Ft. Lauderdale Woman’s Club, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on June,19, 2020.
Under the auspices of the American Fine Wine Competition, the judges selected Brengman Brothers, Block 7 ($25), from Leelanau Peninsula, Michigan, which won Best of Show in the Dry Rosé Category. This Pinot Noir from Crain Hill Vineyard hit all the right notes and captivated the assembled judges.
Some of the comments made by the judges:
Said Sarah Phillips, wine writer and educator at the Florida Wine Academy: “This Rosé has a fruity, expressive nose, good concentration, watermelon, peach… I want to drink it all day!” “It’s Singing!” Said Judge Zack Foley, Wine Director at the Boatyard, Ft. Lauderdale.
Runners up included: BACA, which comes in a three-pack of cans, made from zinfandel grapes from Lodi, Russian River Vineyards which entered two wines, both earning double gold medals- Giana May Rosé made from Pinot Noir grapes and their Petite Sirah from Wedge Family Vineyard; Costeval from Coteaux d’Aix en Provence; Chateau de Garciniere from AOT Cotes du Provence; SMAK “Summer” from Walla Walla and Bricolour, Estate Grown Rosé of Pinot Noir.
In the Sparkling Wine Category, an extraordinary thing happened! Best of Show went to Napa’s Domaine Carneros Brut Rosé ($44), for the second year in a row- a fabulous wine that beat out a strong field of bubblies from around the world.

She is an industry pioneer who continues to set the bar for American sparkling wine and her exceptional Cuvee de la Pompadour Brut Rose is one of my all-time favorites!” Said Stephanie Miskew, Judge, CSW, Certified Sommelier, Fox News Contributor and Author of The Glamorous Gourmet.
Syltbar “il Concerto”, an organic wine made from Merlot grapes from Friuli, Italy; Ca’del Borgo, also from Friuli; and the final double gold medal winner in the sparkling wine category was Domaine Carneros Cuvee de Pompadour.
THE Rosé Competition 2020 received a total of 150 entries and the sixteen esteemed wine judges awarded 14 Double Gold Medals, 28 Gold Medals and 50 Silver Medals.

Every year this competition becomes more challenging and more exciting as the wines continue to improve in quality, demonstrated by the number of gold and double gold medals.
