Clarksburg, Calif. – Bogle Vineyards and Winery has promoted long-time winemaker Eric Aafedt to Vice President of Winemaking.
As an integral part of the Bogle team since 1994, Aafedt most recently held the title of Director of Winemaking, overseeing winemaking, quality control and production at the family-owned winery in Clarksburg. In his new role, Aafedt will continue to lead all winemaking operations and help provide valuable insight and direction on quality and for wine production decisions.
“For over 25 years Eric has dedicated himself to developing a style, a consistency and a quality standard that has come to be synonymous with the name Bogle,” said Bogle Vineyards Vice President and CFO Ryan Bogle. “Eric’s craftsmanship can be seen in each of our wines, including our Phantom and Juggernaut brands, as well.”
Bogle was producing 60,000 cases of wine at the time Aafedt joined the Clarksburg winery. Having started working for Bogle founders, Chris and Patty Bogle, and now with the next generation, Eric has helped expand production to more than 2 million cases annually. Through the years, Aafedt helped manage this remarkable growth while ensuring quality was of the highest priority.
“I am honored and humbled by the recognition and opportunity the Bogle Family has presented to me,” says Aafedt. “Being part of and sharing in the incredible success of Bogle Winery has been an amazing journey over these last 25 years. I am excited for our future and eager to continue leading Bogle Vineyards’ truly dynamic winemaking team.”
“As a family business, we thrive when we have people willing to take that extra step to achieve results,” said President and Vineyard Director of Bogle Vineyards, Warren Bogle. “Eric has demonstrated to be a leader in the wine industry and a valuable piece of our success throughout the years.”
In addition to Aafedt’s promotion, Bogle has recently hired a new Vice President of Marketing, Paul Englert, and added Dan Ewer as Vice President of Sales.
Bogle Vineyards is located in Clarksburg, California, and is run by the sixth generation of the Bogle family to live and work in the Sacramento Delta region. Bogle was honored as Wine Enthusiast’s 2019 American Winery of the Year and was presented with the Green Medal Leader Award in 2018 for its sustainability efforts in the winery and vineyards.
