Premium Calistoga Wine Producers Offer One-of-a-Kind Tasting Experience
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (January 22, 2020) – The Calistoga Wine Growers will bring the “Top of Napa Valley” to San Francisco for the third annual Calistoga Wine Experience event on Saturday, February 22 from 1 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. at the Golden Gate Club in the Presidio. Building upon the success of previous events, more than 25 Calistoga AVA producers will be on hand to offer tastes while providing guests with the opportunity to purchase wines in addition to delicious cuisine from McCalls Catering & Events.
The tasting will showcase exclusive wines from premium Calistoga wineries, including Chateau Montelena, Girard Winery, Bennett Lane and La Sirena Wine along with access to tasting from wineries that produce fewer than 1,000 cases annually and do not have tasting rooms or retail locations for the general public. About Calistoga Winegrowers: Located at the top of the Napa Valley, Calistoga Winegrowers (CWG) is a non-profit membership of wineries and vineyards located in the Calistoga AVA. CWG’s mission is to promote and protect the past, present and future of grape growing and winemaking in the Calistoga AVA. The AVA was approved in 2009 and became official in 2010 though it has always been considered a unique wine grape growing location, with viticulture and winery census data dating to 1880 listing Calistoga as a distinct region separate from Napa. Rich volcanic bedrock and sediment provide a geologic uniformity, while the AVA’s diverse topography ranges from steep mountains to valley floors, making Calistoga entirely unique to other Napa Valley AVAs.
