3rd Annual Event Offers Wow Factor for Trade and Consumers Alike
Central Coast, CA—The world of wine is set to come together at the third annual Wine Speak Paso Robles event on January 14-16, 2020, featuring a unique mix of trade and consumer experiences with an emphasis on community.
“In two short years, Wine Speak has become a draw for those looking for a refreshing wine experience,” said Fred Dame, famed master sommelier and global wine ambassador at DAOU Vineyards & Winery. “The participants here truly ‘participate’ in all the events. This is a genuine wine community experience.”
The result is a trade-focused event showcasing an all-star cast of master sommeliers, wine industry leaders and hospitality professionals, all of whom rub shoulders with wine lovers at two signature public tastings—the “Wines of The World” Grand Tasting on January 14 and the “BYOB Dinner” on January 15.
“I think that’s what makes Wine Speak unique,” said master sommelier Chuck Furuya, who co-founded Wine Speak with Amanda Wittstrom-Higgins. “It’s not just for one segment of the wine industry. It’s for everyone. It’s an intimate event with a big tent, because we’re all in this together.”
Wine Speak 2020 – Trade Experiences
Wine Speak 2020 spans three days in the Paso Robles wine country, kicking off with a regional open house, followed by two days of winemaker-sommelier panels. The event will conclude with professional development seminars and workshops on the final day.
Wine Speak 2020 will boast an international flair, featuring industry luminaries from both the old and new worlds—such as Paso Robles, California; Napa Valley, California; Rhône Valley, France; Priorat, Spain; Mendoza, Argentina and elsewhere.
Said co-founder Amanda Wittstrom-Higgins, Ancient Peaks Winery’s VP of operations, “Our aim is to create a premier experience for wine industry professionals to grow and learn together.”
Wine Speak 2020 – Public Events
At the “Wines of The World” Grand Tasting on January 14, local chefs will present wine-friendly small plates and an international cast of winemakers will showcase some of their finest reserve and library bottlings. The aim is to give guests a sense of wonderment as they taste wines from Paso Robles, Germany, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Argentina, France and beyond.
The “BYOB Dinner” on January 15 is an opportunity to gather with wine friends from near and far. The casual setting is ideal for mingling and meeting winemakers, sommeliers, wine professionals and other wine lovers. Attendees bring bottles of their favorite wines to share—and everyone is always amazed at what they get to taste.
