Champagne Henriot Introduces: Rosé Vintage 2012

Renowned Family-Owned Champagne House Releases Rare Vintage Rosé

NEW YORK, October 22, 2019 – For more than two centuries, Champagne Henriot has remained an independent and family-owned House, known for its signature Chardonnay-driven style and exceptionally high proportion of Grand Cru and Premier Cru wines. This season, the house is proud to announce the once-a-decade U.S. release of a vintage rosé champagne – Champagne Henriot Rosé Vintage 2012. The wine will be available nationwide this month.

“A rosé vintage release from Champagne Henriot only happens in very special vintages,” says Gilles de Larouzière, President of Maisons & Domaines Henriot. “Prior to this 2012 vintage, the last vintage rosé available in the U.S. was the 2008, and before that the 1990. The 2012 is a stunning coral-colored cuvée, full-flavored and bursting with light, making it an ideal wine to enjoy before your holiday meal or paired with meats and fish.”

Champagne Henriot Rosé Vintage 2012

Made from 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay exclusively sourced from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards; aged at least 5 years on the lees; dosage is less than 8g/l; $125 SRP

Presents shades of vivid coral; is both elegant and intensely flavored. The color makes its vibrant, potent presence felt, only disturbed by the bright reflections in the glass.  On the nose, delicate fruit-laden notes underscore a fresh, striking minerally streak. On the palate, the texture comes through in the piercing aromas and mellow softness of wild and gariguette strawberries. The rich ripeness of the fruit is joyously on point, presenting a vast spectrum of aromas and bracing freshness, underpinned by perfectly balanced complex structure. The flavors are consistent and linger on the palate as they whet the appetite, accompanied by a creamy edge so typical of the Henriot style. The aromas show all the potential to transform over time and have slightly tropical notes of orange at the end of the palate.
